We contacted Ladina Schopf - an interior designer, architect, and the founder of LS Projects - for her advice on how to choose the best one. They weighed storage capacity and layout and energy efficiency as well as other features.

GE Profile Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

As the name suggests, the GE Profile series targets consumers who want to incorporate cutting-edge features into their kitchen. This refrigerator has it all, from a Keurig K cup coffee maker in the door, to a clever dispenser of water. But these flourishes don't mask mediocre performance, especially in the refrigerator's freezer and an ineffective temperature-controlled drawer. The refrigerator is expensive, so I expected better.

This fridge is a good option, despite the slight blip. It has a large freezer compartment which is uncommon for counter-depth French door fridges. It also holds a lot of frozen food, which is a big difference from other models.

Inside the fridge, there are 17 shelves and compartments. The fridge compartment has 18.5 cubic feet, which is the standard for a French-door refrigerator at this price. It has a decent sized refrigerator with an ice maker in the left door. However, it's not the largest one I've seen.

You can adjust the shelving in both compartments to create a custom storage setup for the items you need to store. The GE PYE22PYNFS's design for the interior is good-looking, too. The LED lighting adds an appealing touch. The in-door storage bins include a third shelf that can be folded down to store large items. The drawers come with temperature controls, so you can set them to Beverage, Meat or Deli settings. They're easy to open and close, however I found their plastic textured coatings to be a bit hard on the fingers.

The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator is equipped with a complete set of features you'd expect from a fridge in this price range with Wi-Fi and app support through GE's SmartHQ software. The app is compatible with iOS and Android devices and lets you control your refrigerator from anywhere in the globe. It also offers a lot of customization options. It also sends you notifications when the door is left unlocked and when the freezer or fridge must be defrosted and when the filter requires a change.

It would be nice if the GE PYE22PYNFS came with Precise Fill, an option available in a few other GE refrigerators that allows you to preset how many cups of water you'd like to disperse at once. It does have an indicator on the display of the fridge to display how much water you have left, but it's not as effective as Precise Fill.

Bosch Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

Created to appear like a seamless part of your kitchen, Bosch's French-door refrigerator is an eye-catching piece. The fridge uses fingerprint-resistant stainless steel, which is a great feature for busy households. It also boasts a veggie compartment to keep vegetables and fruits fresher for longer, and two compressors to ensure maximum food preservation. The ice maker we tested was one of the most efficient and makes an ice pyramid with only a little water. This refrigerator is the ideal option for a single family or kitchenettes looking for a built-in look and top of the line food preservation.

This refrigerator was rated as the top in our Refrigerators Test due to a variety of reasons. The freezer temperatures remained steady at just a few degrees Fahrenheit, never fluctuating more than a fraction of an inch. This is essential to preventing freezer burn. The fridge section of the fridge also performed well, reaching the desired initial set temperature within an hour and keeping that temperature steady over the course of our tests.

Bosch is known for its premium appliances, so it's no surprise that this counter depth refrigerator is also a smart appliance, with the option to connect to your home Wi-Fi as well as Bosch's Home Connect platform.  french style fridge freezer  allows you to monitor and control the refrigerator remotely using your smartphone or tablet. It's important to understand the limitations of your fridge. It has a small space for shelves, so you'll have to think creatively when storing tall items. LG Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

The LG LRFLC2706S counter-depth refrigerator is a great option for those who require plenty of space in a small frame. It has a sleek, fingerprint-resistant stainless-steel finish and features thick handles that make them comfortable to grip. Inside, the refrigerator has an ordinary French-door design with gallon-sized bins for the doors on each door, two rows of shelves that capture spills, and a set of more spacious drawers. The upper right shelf can be folded down to give tall items more headroom. There's also a full-width storage drawer for products from the deli and an inside water dispenser.

The refrigerator comes with an ice maker, making it easy to transfer the ice when needed. The freezer also features clever design features, such as sliding drawers that help you organize your belongings. It also has a large container for storing frozen food, and a separate bin for ice.

Smart InstaView panel is another cool feature of the refrigerator.  french style fridge freezer  allows you to control the fridge's temperature and lighting using your smartphone. It's a nice method of monitoring and managing your refrigerator, especially when you're away from home.

Although the Smart InstaView is a neat feature, it does not necessarily enhance the overall performance of the refrigerator. The fridge took a bit longer to defrost food and chill it than some others we test. This could be due to the larger capacity.

The doors are another problem with this fridge. They have sunken handles at the front, which allows shorter people to easily open them from the bottom, but they're not easy for taller people to guide shut without slamming them. It would have been better if they came with a front-mounted handle.

The LG Counter-Depth MAX is a ideal choice for those who want to combine the advantages of a fridge with a French door with a more efficient layout. Its capacity is superior for a counter-depth model, and it cools well and has a nice layout. It's also a bit cheaper than the most expensive counter depth refrigerators that have an ice maker, making it an attractive option.

Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

If you're looking for a French door refrigerator that won't break the bank this Frigidaire is a solid option. It has a simple design that isn't as striking visually like some of the competitors however it comes with enough features to make it a good option. Its main feature is the adjustable temperature drawer which helps keep food items such as meat and vegetables fresher for longer. It also has a large ice maker as well as a water dispenser.

The "Chill Drawer", which sits above the two crisper bins, is a nice feature. The drawer lets you redirect the majority of your fridge's cooling power into this area so it can be used to store food items which need extra attention. This feature is adjustable using a slider located outside the drawer. You can also alter the general cooling settings for the entire fridge. I've found that the general settings are more effective than the specific ones.

In my experiments, I noticed that the temperatures of the refrigerator were fairly consistent in various parts of the refrigerator. The temperatures in the top and bottom of the fridge didn't vary much from 38 degrees, and even the middle of the fridge was within one degree of 36. That's a good performance however it doesn't rank among the best in our ratings.

This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. You can also pair this fridge with an intelligent thermometer to get more precise readings of the internal temperature of your fridge.

The exterior of the Frigidaire is made of grey-bodied stainless with a "smudge proof" finish. It blocks streaks and fingerprints better than other stainless steel finishes I've tested.
